Judy was born in 1961. With a Music Degree from Durham University and a PGCE from Cambridge she moved to Cornwall in 1983. After gaining an M.A. in Music for Film and Television in the 1990s, she has built a reputation locally as a composer.
Judy is also well-known in Devon and Cornwall as a Secondary School Head of Music, a Classical, Jazz and Tango double bassist a Jazz vocalist; a pianist and a flautist.
Judy welcomes musical commissions large or small, working happily in a wide range of genres.

Judy's new commission for brass quintet 'Bright Lights in the Autumn Night' was performed at the 2022 Dartmouth Festival. A recording of this piece will be available in the Autumn.
In October 2021, Judy was the Composer and Musical Director for 'Heaven's Thunder', a unique live performance combining horses and music involving 50 singers and instrumentalists.
Judy’s other large-scale works include ‘This Earth Beautiful’ for choir and orchestra and two co-written children’s musicals ‘An Ocean Adventure’ and ‘There’s Moor Around’.
